Dane Huffman, who has been managing WNCN.com for the CBS affiliate in Raleigh, has been hired as the new managing editor of the Triangle Business Journal.

He replaces Rebecca Troyer, who left the American City Business Journals paper earlier this year when she moved to Greensboro.

Huffman worked at The (Raleigh) News & Observer for 24 years, at WRAL-TV for nearly four before joining WNCN in April 2011.

In November 2014, WNCN.com was named the top television website in the Carolinas by the news directors association. It has tripled its page views in a year, grown advertising and put a heavy focus on mobile media.

He was an assistant sports editor and reporter at the News & Observer. At WRAL, he was the sports editor. Huffman is a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate.
