The AOL Huffington Post Media Group has launched of HuffPost Small Business, a new site covering issues facing small business owners.
The site plans to offer tips and tools for entrepreneurs, coverage of potential pitfalls and opportunities facing young companies, and spotlight industry leaders. Rod Kurtz is the executive editor.
“Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy, and the key source of job growth” said Peter Goodman, executive business editor at AOL Huffington Post, in a statement. “Our site aims to crystallize a crucial conversation about what they need to prosper. We will spotlight what is working and amplify concerns about what is impeding the growth so sorely needed. We seek to be the ultimate lens on this vital area of American commerce”
HuffPost Small Business will have regular and special features aimed at entrepreneurs, including: “My First Million” which chronicles the lives and entrepreneurial journeys of superstar entrepreneurs; “Made in the USA,” a look at thriving small businesses throughout the country; and “The Next Big Idea,” which highlights quirky American product manufacturers.
HuffPost Small Business’ bloggers include Startup Professionals founder and CEO Marty Zwilling, Palo Alto Software founder Tim Berry, and SCVNGR founder and CEO Seth Priebatsch.
