Huffington Post Media Group has hired Gabriel Arana as its senior media editor, starting Feb. 9.
He will oversee The Huffington Post’s Media section.
For the last year, Arana was a guest editor for The Nation, and previously served as a contributing writer at Salon. His articles have appeared in numerous publications including The American Prospect, The New Republic, The Atlantic, Slate, and The Daily Beast.
“The Huffington Post has long been a leading source for media news and analysis,” said Arana in a statement. “I couldn’t be more thrilled to join the team at a time of rapid and exciting change for the digital media industry.”
The Huffington Post now reaches 117 million U.S. readers a month (comScore, December 2014) and is in 13 countries and growing.
