Abby Normal Johnston has been hired executive editor of the Texas Observer where she will be covering the affairs of the state.
Prior to joining the Texas Observer, Johnston served as digital editor with FRONTLINE PBS and as a web and senior editor with Texas Monthly. She has also worked as a contributing writer and as a contributing news editor at the Austin Chronicle and Bustle, respectively.
Additionally, she has served as a digital journalist with The E.W. Scripps Company.
Johnston holds a Bachelor’s in Multimedia Journalism and French from the University of Texas at Austin. She is also a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
