POLITICO: How important is financial TV, in a world where many analysts and traders get their news online, or on proprietary terminals?

KAMINSKY: That’s a great and difficult question to answer — having been a pioneer in biz TV 25 years ago and with my specific insight working with thousands of advisors and millions of clients at Morgan Stanley over the last three years, my personal opinion is that with all the online information available free now there is no need for a TV network to simply replicate the ticker — that’s primarily why we like to say “if you want to watch the ticker you know where to go …if you want to watch what makes the greatest investors tick — join us on Wall Street Week and Fox Business Network because that’s what we’re trying to accomplish.” Content is king and there will always be a need for long-term investors to learn and continually educate themselves.
