The Lede, an internal Dow Jones newsletter, talked with Wall Street Journal reporters Eliot Brown and Maureen Farrell about their reporting on the WeWork story.

Here is an excerpt:

How did you know there was more to uncover at WeWork? What kept you going?

Eliot: It was always clear from former employees and other sources that WeWork was endlessly fascinating and always had more to uncover. They were unconventional in most every way, and high-octane that it was evident that this was a story to stay on top of. I’d also been collecting colorful, telling or concerning anecdotes in a spreadsheet for months, because there were so many.

Maureen: I’ve never had as many leads on any story as this one. Dozens of people in so many different roles have wanted to share things that had given them pause about the company and Adam Neumann. That’s kept me going, and it still feels like there’s a lot more of the story to uncover.
