How one biz journal editor is working from home

Bill Roy, the editor of the Wichita Business Journal, writes about how he’s working from home due to the coronavirus.

Roy writes, “But because of that diagnosis, and in light of the Centers for Disease Control guidelines, like many of you, I have decided to work from home for now.

“It poses come challenges, but nothing that can’t be overcome thanks to modern technology.

“For example, I communicate with my staff via Slack. It’s instant messaging to one or to multiple employees. I’m sure some of you are using Slack like we are.

“We also email if need be. We have a fancy new phone system at work and when someone calls my office phone, it rings my cell phone.

“Our company has a secure VPN system so remote workers can log into our system.

“I need to let you know: The WBJ has postponed all events through the middle of May. We will find new dates for those events, including the 2020 40 Under 40 awards.”
