The Houston Chronicle has hired Sergio Chapa as an energy reporter.
Chapa has been covering energy for the San Antonio Business Journal since 2014. He also covered manufacturing and technology.
In Houston, he will be covering oil and gas service companies, midstream companies, Mexico’s energy reforms and the growth of the liquefied natural gas industry along the Texas Gulf Coast.
Before joining the Business Journal, Chapa spent six years covering Mexico’s drug war for the Harlingen-based CBS affiliate KGBT-TV.
A University of Texas graduate, Chapa also worked for Al Dia/The Dallas Morning News and The Brownsville Herald.
