Rhiannon Meyers, an energy reporter at the Houston Chronicle, has left the newspaper for a communications job at the Memorial Hermann health care system.
Her last day was Thursday.
Meyers joined the Chronicle in July 2014, and she covered petrochemicals, refining, liquefied natural gas, gasoline and diesel pricing. Before that, she was an investigative reporter for the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, where she worked for almost four years. While there, she led coverage of a yearlong series investigating the Type 2 diabetes epidemic in Texas. She was selected as one of five journalists nationwide to receive Association of Health Care Journalists’ Health Care Performance Reporting Fellowship.
Meyers previously worked at the Galveston County Daily News and the Tyler Morning Telegraph, two other papers in Texas. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University.
