Houston Chronicle energy reporter joining investigations team

David Hunn

David Hunn, an enterprise energy reporter for the Houston Chronicle business staff, is joining the paper’s investigations team.

Hunn will take on investigations in the world of business and energy, according to an announcement from deputy managing editor Steve Riley.

Riley wrote:

David, who joined the Chronicle in 2016, previously was a public projects reporter for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, where he was on a team that was a finalist for a Pulitzer. He has produced memorable work here on energy issues and was recently among three reporters who produced a terrific takedown of the National Flood Insurance Program as part of our Developing Storm series.

Hunn grew up in California, taught English for two years to seventh-graders in the Long Beach Unified School District and has also worked for the Bakersfield Californian and Anchorage Daily News.

He has won numerous awards for education reporting, was part of the Post-Dispatch’s Pulitzer-finalist team for a city hall shooting outside of St. Louis and was named a 2016 finalist in feature writing by the Society of American Business Writers and Editors.
