Houston Biz Journal hires Samora as general assignment reporter

Sara Samora

Sara Samora will be joining the Houston Business Journal as a general assignment reporter.

Previously, she was a staff writer at the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung. Before that, she was a social media specialist at NextOp Veterans. There, she increased the company’s social media presence by over 22 percent and helped increased registrations over 15 percent.

She also served as a veterans peer counselor at the University of Houston and as a staff writer/senior staff writer/news editor at The Cougar.

Additionally, she was an editorial intern at Houstonia Magazine and was in active duty with the United States Marine Corps where she worked as an administrative specialist.

Samora is a B.A. in English language and literature from the University of Houston and holds a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University – Graduate School of Journalism.
