Houston Biz Journal hires new reporter
The Houston Business Journal has hired Sara Samora, who will cover general assignments, which entails breaking news, Special Report features and Face to Face profiles.
A story on its website states, “‘I’m very excited to include someone of Sara’s caliber at the Houston Business Journal,’ said Giselle Greenwood, HBJ’s editor-in-chief. ‘I believe the Houston community will benefit from her sharp news acumen and insightful writing style.’
“Samora previously worked as a staff writer at the Herald-Zeitung in New Braunfels, Texas, and prior to that, served as a freelancer for Houstonia magazine. She also was a staff writer and special features editor at The Cougar, the University of Houston’s student publication. Samora received her undergraduate degree from the University of Houston and her master’s from Columbia University in New York City.
“She’s also a former Marine, once stationed at Okinawa, Japan, and Camp Pendleton, California.”
