Robert Hordt, the deputy editor at Investment News, has been named editor of Crain’s New York Business.
He started Monday.
His first daily newspaper job was at the Gloucester County Times outside Philadelphia, but most of his career – 23 years – was spent at the Asbury Park Press at the Jersey Shore, first as a business reporter and later as business editor.
He joined Crain’s New York Business as an assistant managing editor in 2007 and was promoted to managing editor the next year. He joined Investment News in 2009 as an assistant managing editor in charge of special reports and was later promoted to deputy editor.
He joins Fred Gabriel, who was hired as publisher and executive editor of Crain’s New York after working as editorial director at Investment News.
