John Helyar, one of the co-authors of “Barbarians at the Gate,” is leaving Bloomberg News, where he worked in its Atlanta bureau as an editor at large.
The news comes as Bloomberg recently published a series of articles by Helyar on fraternities.
Helyar has written ”The Lords of the Realm: The Real History of Baseball” and co-authored “Barbarians at the Gate,” which was about the leveraged buyout of RJR Nabisco and is considered one of the best business books of all time. It was turned into a movie and also appeared on best-seller lists for nine months.
Helyar, a Boston University graduate, is married to The Wall Street Journal’s Betsy Morris.
