Hearst Magazines hires WSJ’s Seth as senior VP

Kabir Seth, the chief operating officer of digital experience and strategy and head of product strategy at The Wall Street Journal, has been hired by Hearst Magazines as senior vice president of product and technology.

At The Journal, he was responsible for executing and overseeing the Journal’s digital product experience.

He was at The Journal for five years, serving in a variety of strategic and operational roles. He was a leader in Dow Jones’ Artificial Intelligence Center for Excellence.

“With his vast knowledge and experience in product engineering and technology, Kabir will help propel the ongoing innovation and digital transformation of our business and our brands,” Hearst Magazines President Debi Chirichella said in a statement. “He brings an impressive record of driving development and implementation processes to his new role, which will steer the direction of our products and evolve the industry standard.”

Earlier in his career, Seth founded a startup edutainment company that utilized augmented reality and led all aspects of product and creative development, from mobile application to story creation.
