Richard Barley, who wrote for the “Heard on the Street” column at The Wall Street Journal, has left the paper.

He covered economics and markets, including fixed-income, foreign-exchange and equities, with a particular focus on the euro zone.

Barley wrote on Twitter: “It’s been an amazing time to write about finance and markets and economics and politics. But it’s time to do something different and move on from journalism.”

He had worked at The Journal for 10 years.
