Jerry Burris, a longtime reporter and editor for The Honolulu Advertiser, has been named acting executive editor of Hawaii Business magazine, according to a story on the Pacific Business News site.
The story states, “Burris, who retired from the Advertiser in 2007 after 38 years but still writes a political column and blogs for the newspaper, joined the staff in late October when it was announced that editor Kelli Abe Trifonovitch was stepping down.
“Publisher David Tumilowicz told PBN that Burris’s assignment is a temporary one and that he is actively searching for a permanent replacement to lead the editorial staff of the monthly magazine, which is owned by PacificBasin Communications of Honolulu.”
