Hartford Business Journal publisher Gail Lebert will step down on Sept. 1 to explore new career opportunities after 12 years at the paper.

A news release states, “Joe Zwiebel, owner and founding publisher will step into the operational role of publisher for the Hartford Business Journal working alongside Associate Publisher Donna Collins – a management team with knowledge, passion and deep roots in the Hartford business community. Joe Zwiebel began the HBJ as Founding Publisher in 1992 and has built the brand from a biweekly publication into a weekly award-winning organization.

“Lebert will continue to work with the Hartford Business Journal’s executive team to facilitate a smooth transition, while remaining engaged with the publication and the business community as chairwoman of Hartford Business Journal’s newly formed Editorial Advisory Board.

“‘This is a great time to turn over a new page – both for the Hartford Business Journal and for me personally,’ Lebert said. ‘I have loved my 12 years at HBJ, and feel confident about the future of the Hartford Business Journal under Joe’s skilled leadership.'”
