Griffeth returns to CNBC

Bill Griffeth, a CNBC anchor who took a leave of absence from the business news network in November 2009, returned to its programming on Monday.

Alex Weprin of TVNewswer writes, “Griffeth’s first day back at CNBC is today where  he will be co-anchoring the 3 PM hour of ‘Closing Bell.’

“To give you a sense of how long Griffeth has been in the TV financial news field, he joined the Financial News Network in 1981, and moved to CNBC when NBC purchased FNN in 1991.”

While at Financial News Network, Griffeth was nominated for a Cable ACE award as best news anchor for his work anchoring its coverage of the stock market crash of 1987.
