Goodkind hired by Newsweek to cover intersection of business and politics

Nicole Goodkind

Nicole Goodkind has been hired Newsweek as a breaking news reporter with a focus on the intersection of business and politics.

She started earlier this week.

For the past seven months, Goodkind has been the press secretary for the Peter G. Peterson Foundation in New York.

She previously worked as a reporter from September 2012 to March 2017 for Yahoo Finance, where she covered fiscal and monetary policy. Before taking on the economics beat, she wrote about music and culture for Paper Magazine, “The Today Show” and Fuse TV.

Goodkind is a native New Yorker and a proud product of the New York City public school system. She has a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in international relations and film studies.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
