Jeff Jones, who has been covering mergers and acquisitions for The Globe and Mail in Toronto, is moving to a new beat.
Jones will now cover green finance, investing, ESG and things related to the energy transition.
Before joining The Globe and Mail in 2013, he was a senior reporter for Reuters, writing news, features and analysis on energy deals, pipelines, politics and general topics. He also worked for Oilweek in Calgary.
Jones won a 2019 SABEW Canada Best In Business Gold award for his scoop on CannTrust Holdings’ deception on growing cannabis plants in unlicensed rooms.
He also won a 2018 National Newspaper Award, SABEW Best in Business Gold, and Digital Publishing Award as part of a Globe and Mail team that produced Hustle in the Oil Patch, an investigation into the crisis of underfunded environmental liabilities in Canada’s oil industry.
