Jonathan Weber, the global industry editor for technology at Reuters, is joining Here/Say Media, a journalism start-up focused on San Francisco, as editor in chief.
“My deepest thanks to all my wonderful friends and colleagues at Reuters,” he wrote on Twitter. “It has been a great run and hope to see many of you soonest in San Francisco!”
Weber has been with Reuters for the past six years overseeing technology coverage. He previously was an editorial consultant where he developed editorial and business plans for a startup publication about health and medicine.
Weber was also managing editor of The Information and West Coast bureau chief of Reuters from 2011 to 2014.
He had been editor in chief of The Industry Standard from 1998 to 2001 and spent eight years at the Los Angeles Times.
