Global Calgary’s business reporter Tomasia DaSilva will assume the consumer reporting beat for “Global News.”
Building on her ongoing “Minding Your Business” segment on “Global News Hour at 6,” DaSilva will now cover consumer, business and money stories.
She is also a full-time news producer and has been with Global Calgary since January 2007.
Tomasia was born in Portugal and was raised in Calgary.
She has worked in Alberta, British Columba and Saskatchewan since graduating from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in the early ’90s. Some of the highlights of her career include a National RTNDA Award for “A Life Worth Living,” the story of a family battling their daughter’s terminal illness.
She was also honored with Best News Reporting for “Mudslide,” a series of investigative reports about a deadly mudslide in Vancouver.
