Glick, former CNBC and Fox Business anchor, named CEO of foundation

Alexis Glick, who was an anchor for CNBC and Fox Business Network before leaving business journalism in late 2009, was named Friday as the chief executive officer of the Gen Youth Foundation.

The new nonprofit organization will focus on lowering childhood obesity.

As CEO, Glick will be responsible for coordinating public, private and health professional partnerships that bring together knowledge, resources and experience. The Gen Youth Foundation wants to educate audiences on the seriousness and complexity of the childhood obesity epidemic and inspire action.

“Her vast experience and relationships in the business world coupled with her experience as a mother positions her as a wonderful addition to help change the school environment through increasing opportunities for eating healthier and getting more physical activity,” said Thomas P. Gallagher, chairman of GenYOUth Foundation and CEO of Dairy Management Inc., the managing organization for National Dairy Council, in a statement.

Glick was vice president of Fox Business Network, where she helped launch the cable news network and anchored “Money for Breakfast” and “The Opening Bell.”
