Boots Gifford, the former print editor of the Denver Business Journal, has been hired as editor of Golf Business magazine.
Gifford will oversee all day-to-day operations of the National Golf Course Owners Association’s publication, including determining all editorial content and managing the magazine’s design.
She will also lead all the association’s education-related activities, including selecting speakers and content for events, webinars and podcasts. Its events include the Golf Business Conference, MCO Retreat and Golf Business TechCon.
Before leaving last fall, Gifford had been with the Denver paper since September 2003 in various positions, including overseeing the editorial production of the weekly newspaper including layout, design, and some photography and graphics, and coordination of the weekly special report including making article assignments, design, editing and layout.
She also produced periodic special reports and supplements and oversaw editorial involvement with awards and other special events.
Before the Denver Business Journal, Gifford was special sections editor and associate editor of FrontRange Tech Biz, an ACBJ publication that started in 2001 and closed in November 2002.
