Georgia paper names new business editor

Sheri Kell, a longtime Georgia resident with business news experience, has been named the Marietta Daily Journal’s business editor.

A story on its website states, “Kell began her career 26 years ago at the Northside Neighbor, the flagship weekly newspaper for the Times Journal and Neighbor Newspaper Group, and since has had an impressive career, including editor positions at a regional commercial real estate magazine and with metro Atlanta public relations and marketing firms. Sheri currently works with COMM360, a Marietta-based communications firm.

“‘We certainly look forward to the experience, enthusiasm and knowledge of the Cobb business landscape that Sheri is bringing to our business section,’ said Billy Mitchell, Journal managing editor.

“Kell and her husband, Cobb County Superior Court Judge Tain Kell, have one son and live in east Cobb. She is active in Johnson Ferry Baptist Church and in many civic and community organizations in Cobb County.”
