Future of Business Media conference to be held in October

PaidContent.org is organizing a conference on the future of the business and trade media, to be held Oct. 30 in New York at the Waldorf Astoria.

Speakers include Jim Spanfeller, the CEO of Forbes.com, and Gordon Crovitz, the publisher of The Wall Street Journal. Also speaking will be David Carey, the publisher of Conde Nast Portfolio.

The conference, which costs $695 for those registering earlier, promises to discuss the changes brought along by digital media and consolidation deals. It will have we have three fireside chats and six panels throughout the day, with ample time for networking as well.

Session topics include the business of video news, consumer business magazines and a Q&A session with Reuters COO Devin Wenig.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
