Fusion hires Auriemma from WSJ

Fusion editor in chief Jane Spencer sent out the following announcement on Monday:

I’m excited to announce the newest member of Fusion’s digital team– Adam Auriemma will be joining us in Miami as Deputy Editor.

Adam will play a critical leadership role in overseeing daily editorial operations at Fusion. He’ll be working closely with me to redefine Fusion’s digital content, and will work with editors, reporters and journalists across all of our teams. As we expand our coverage in 2015, Adam will also lead our coverage around money, careers and personal finance for Fusion’s young, diverse audience. Adam is a highly creative editor, whose approach to stories is a wonderful combination of rigorous and fun.

Adam joins us from The Wall Street Journal where he was a deputy bureau chief in New York, covering a range of issues for both print and digital, specifically workplace and career issues. Prior to that, he was managing editor of The Daily Beast, where he drove the site’s coverage of daily and breaking news, while also working to develop features on topics from tech and health to counter-terrorism. He is a native of Massachusetts and a graduate of NYU.

Adam will be working with me out of the New York office this week, but starts in Miami next week.
