After 13 years on the Financial Times main news desk, Tony Tassell has joined Brooke Masters’ team as financial opinion editor.
Tassell has been with the Financial Times since 1996. He held the posts of Lex columnist, investment correspondent, deputy U.K. companies editor, Manila correspondent, and Mumbai correspondent.
Later on, he became deputy markets editor and was then promoted to the post of financial news editor before holding the post of deputy news editor.
He was also head of research for India at Caspian Securities. There, he managed a team of 9 research analysts covering 75 companies in India, involving writing strategy research, setting the direction for the research team, editing and initiating research and developing contact between clients and the research team.
In addition, he has also served as Bombay bureau chief for AFX Asia where he set up the Bombay bureau for the financial news agency which is a joint venture between the FT and Agence France Presse.
