FT letters editor Davidson retires

Heather Davidson

Heather Davidson, the letters editor of The Financial Times, has retired.

She had been letters editor since January 1999.

In a farewell letter, Davidson wrote, “I want to thank everyone who has contributed and made my job so fascinating and fun. Every day has been different and not one has been dull.”

Editor in chief Roula Khalaf, in a note to the staff, wrote, “Finally, I want to pay tribute to the legendary Heather Davidson who is retiring from the post of letters editor after more than 20 years. Her colleague and her many dedicated letter writers and readers, will miss her greatly.”

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
