The Financial Times launched Friday a new FT web app for the Indian market, available directly through a web browser at app.ft.com/india, for the Apple iPad and iPhone.

Web app users can access all stories on the home page for free, exclusively in India.

The FT India app features tailored Financial Times content covering Indian and international business news and analysis. The app also highlights news from the beyondbrics blog, business education reports, the A-list commentary column, the Alphaville blog and the recently launched Luxury 360, the Financial Times’ new online hub for creative and commercial coverage of the luxury goods industry.

“With rapid economic growth and an ever increasing number of talented and influential business leaders, India has long been a strategically important market for Financial Times,” said Rob Grimshaw, managing director at FT.com, in a statement. “The launch of our new app will help the FT accelerate its growth in the region and put our news and analysis straight into the hands of those business people who need it.”

The app launches with a $49.40 subscription offers for readers in India who purchase their subscription through directly through the app.
