FT hires Peter Foster as public policy editor

The Financial Times has hired Peter Foster as public policy editor.

At FT, he will be managing a team of reporters and will be working closely with the FT’s award-winning political writers, led by George Parker, as well as Chris Giles’ economics team.

Recently, Foster held the post of Europe editor for The Telegraph. He also has two decades of experience covering global affairs from all over the world. Foster also covered a wide range of major breaking news events, including 9/11.

“I am delighted that Peter is joining the Financial Times,” said FT editor Roula Khalaf in a statement. “His reputation for breaking important stories on both sides of one of the most complex issues in UK and European history is based on a wealth of experience and outstanding relationships. Our readers will benefit from his forensic policy analysis at a critical time for the future of the UK.”

Foster is the author of “Facing Facts – Is British Power Diminishing?” he examines Britain’s future role in the world with Project for the Understanding of the 21st Century. It is a Reuters-backed think-tank with a brief to raise the profile public debate on issues of major global interest.
