FT hires Bloomberg’s Morris as Euro banking correspondent

Stephen Morris, a reporter at Bloomberg News in London for the past eight years, has been hired by the Financial Times to be a European banking correspondent.

He starts next week.

Morris joined Bloomberg in June 2010 as a debt reporter covering corporate finance and syndicated loans. He became a UK finance reporter in July 2014.

Morris previously worked for The Independent. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Durham and a master’s in American history from the University of Cambridge.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
