Sarah Shemkus of the Cape Cod Times writes Sunday about Pam Krueger, the host of “MoneyTrack,” which is shown on more ehan 150 PBS stations around the country.

Pam KruegerShemkus writes, “In 2005, she and co-host Jack Gallagher — himself a part-time resident of Harwich Port — launched MoneyTrack. Krueger envisioned the program as a source of simplified, practical advice about how small, easy steps can translate into significant wealth.

“‘Small amounts of money matter,’ she said, explaining the central philosophy of MoneyTrack. ‘Small amounts of money can amount to big piles of money over time.’

“She also cautions against micro-managing investments, making adjustments every time a stock’s value falls or oil prices jump.

“These events, she said, are ‘definitely a wake-up call, not a call to action.’

“The half-hour show includes the stories of real people who have achieved investment success, answers to viewer questions and warnings about current financial scams. Financial experts ranging from Washington Post columinst Michelle Singletary to actor-economist Ben Stein also appear on the program.”
