Fox Business makes fun of CNBC — again

The latest attempt by Fox Business Network to tweak its competition — rival business network CNBC — is now airing.

Earlier this year, CNBC began running a series of promotional ads about its on-air talent. The ads featured people like Maria Bartiromo talking about themselves in spots that were shot in black and white.

For example, the Bartiromo spot, which can be seen here, has her talking about how she is an accordian player and the first person to report from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.

A new promotional spot for Fox Business begins the same way, with anchor Liz Claman being shown in black and white and an ominous voice beginning, “In a financial world gone mad…”

However, Claman quickly interrupts the voice, the screen turns to color, and Claman begins talking about how business coverage should be about the consumer, not the on-air talent. “When it comes to business coverage, it’s not about me,” she says. “It’s about you.”

The spot ends with a new slogan: “You are Fox Business.”
