Fox Business Network has filed a motion to block the banking industry from being a party in the network’s lawsuit to obtain documents from the Federal Reserve, reports Dunstan Prial of Fox Business.
Prial writes, “Some of the biggest U.S. banks, through a trade group called the Clearing House Association, appealed a lower court’s decision last week that would force the government to release the names of banks that accepted emergency loans during the worst of the recent financial crisis.
“The CHA, which includes Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup and Wells Fargo, among others, wants the Supreme Court to decide the case.
“FOX Business is asking an appellate court to allow the release and not give the banks the opportunity to join the suit.
“The Clearing House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.”
