Digital Home reports that Canadian regulators have approved a request for Fox Business Network to broadcast north of the border.
Digital Home reports, “The Commission received only one comment opposing the application from CTVglobemedia Inc. (CTVgm) which argued that FBN would be directly competitive with its Business News Network (BNN).
“CTVgm submitted that FBN’s programming is with BNN because they are both global financial and business news services offering pre- and post-market news, discussion and analysis.
“Rogers argued that, while both BNN and FBN provide business and financial news, the focus, perspective and programming content of each service are distinctly different: FBN offers a unique and alternative perspective on American and world events while BNN’s primary focus is on issues concerning Canadians. Rogers also noted that there is no programming overlap or duplicated programs betwen the two channels.”
