Fortune magazine has hired Marco Quiroz-Gutierrez as a reporter covering politics and business, especially at the intersections of race, gender and money.
He will start April 1.
Quiroz-Gutierrez is currently an intern covering the markets for The Wall Street Journal.
He previously interned for the Charlotte Observer and for GrepBeat, a publication covering entrepreneurs in the Research Triangle Park. He also interned for the North Carolina Local News Workshop.
Quiroz-Gutierrez is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, where he was managing editor and then editor of The Daily Tar Heel and majored in business journalism.
