Aaron Task, the editor of Fortune.com, is the latest to leave the business magazine amid a purge of high-priced talent, Talking Biz News has confirmed.

Task had been with the magazine since September 2015. In July, he started a weekly podcast next week called “Fortune Unfiltered.”

Others who have left Fortune in recent weeks include legal affairs editor Roger Parloff and Peter Elkind, co-author of “Smartest Guys in the Room.”

Task joined Fortune after time at Yahoo Finance, where he was editor in chief. During his time at Fortune, he pushed the web operation to a 30 percent increase in organic traffic vs. 2015 and a 160 percent increase in video starts.

Before joining Yahoo in 2008, he spent 10 years at TheStreet.com in a variety of roles, including executive editor.  He also served as the on-camera host for Yahoo’s video efforts.

He is the winner of a number of journalism awards and contributing editor, with Barry Ritholtz, of the 2008 book “Bailout Nation.”
