Former St. Louis Biz Journal editor and publisher named editor of Missouri paper

Patricia Miller

Tricia Miller, the former editor and publisher of the St. Louis Business Journal, has been named the interim editor of the Washington Missourian, a paper owned by her family, reports Sara Guaglione of Publishers Daily.

Guaglione reports, “Miller is the first woman to lead the Missourian. She comes to the paper after 33 years at the St. Louis Business Journal, where she was most recently editor and publisher.

“According to multiple reports, Miller is the daughter of Miller Sr. She did not respond to multiple requests for comment. The Miller family has owned the biweekly newspaper since 1937.

“Miller Sr. stepped down last Wednesday after sparking controversy for allowing the paper to publish a syndicated cartoon that pokes fun at calls to defund police departments.

“It shows a white woman calling for help as a masked black man grabs at her purse and says, ‘Good luck with that, lady … we defunded the police.'”
