Sonny Albarado, who had been the business editor at the Memphis Commercial-Appeal, is moving to Little Rock to become projects editor of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
A short story in the Arkansas paper stated, “In the late 1970’s, Albarado was hired by The Morning Advocate in Baton Rouge, to be the bureau chief in Gonzales, La. He held several reporting and editing positions with The Advocate and was the financial editor when he was hired by The Commercial Appeal in 1989.
“At The Commercial Appeal, Albarado worked as projects editor, business editor and as news editor, where he supervised the wire desk and copy desk.
“‘It’s a chance to get back working with reporters, which I missed,’ Albarado said of his new post. ‘The primary focus is going to be investigative reporting. There are reporters that cover certain beats that say, ‘If I only had the time to investigate this.’ This will allow reporters with good ideas for investigative stories to work on them.'”
