Former Mediaite COO joins Reuters

Andrew Cedotal, the former chief operating office at Mediaite, has starting working at Reuters on Friday.

A Reuters spokesman confirmed to Talking Biz News that Cedotal is joining the product team on the media side at Reuters.

Cedotal, who was an intern with The Wall Street Journal in 2007 in Singapore, is a 2008 graduate from Yale University.

He started at Mediaite in August 2008 as director of operations and left in January 2012 as chief operating officer. He oversaw the launch of six new sites and the growth of its visitors to 10 million per month.

For the past year, he has bean a founder and programmer of a company called Conmapper, which was billed as a better way to find conventions, conferences, and industry events.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
