Former LA Biz Journal editor Sullivan starts LinkedIn column

Jerry Sullivan, the former editor in chief of the Los Angeles Business Journal, has started writing a column on Linkedin called “SullivanSaysSoCal.”

Sullivan says the column will reside on LinkedIn until he arrange for a new home through a proprietary website or an affiliation.

Sullivan left the Business Journal at the end of October after running it for 18 months.

Sullivan became editor of the paper in June 2017. He previously had been editor of the Orange County Business Journal, a sister publication.

He founded the Los Angeles Garment & Citizen, which served neighborhoods throughout Downtown Los Angeles and surrounding districts from 2001 to 2010. He also has edited California Apparel News, Pacific Textile News and World Trade Magazine.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
