BW radio person to join WSJ Radio Network

The Wall Street Journal Radio Network announced that veteran broadcast business journalist Ray Hoffman, who has been with BusinessWeek in its radio operations, will join the network as afternoon drive business news anchor beginning Nov. 1, according to a story on Radio Ink.

In an e-mail, Hoffman says that he will be with BusinessWeek through Oct. 25. He expects a successor to be named soon.

Ray is an outstanding addition to the premiere business-news radio network in the country, said Nancy Abramson, executive director, The Wall Street Journal Radio Network. “Ray’s reports, based on his extensive knowledge of money and the markets, will be a real strength in afternoon drive time. Ray will be a compelling, new presence for the Journal brand on the leading all-news radio station in the country’s number one media market.

“WCBS has long had the best morning business reports on the radio with Joe Connolly,â€? said Crys Quimby, WCBS-AM program director. “Adding Ray Hoffman to afternoon drive on 880 means WCBS is without a doubt, ‘The Best in Business.'”
