Former business editor Don Worthington has become the editor of the Pageland Progressive Journal in South Carolina.
Vanessa Tyson of the Progressive Journal writes, “The Pageland Progressive Journal’s new editor, Don Worthington, has covered a king, a queen, U.S. presidents and an Indian chief during his 30 years of news reporting and editing.
“Worthington came aboard as editor of the local newspaper June 28 after retiring as business editor of The Herald in Rock Hill.
“Although Worthington has covered a wide range of characters over three decades, he said what he likes doing most is interviewing ordinary people who have done extraordinary things.”
He has spent 30 years in journalism. Worthington was with the Rock Hill Herald since 2010. While there, he wrote a column called “Your Business.”
He has also been a sports reporter, city government reporter and editor. He was business editor at The Fayetteville Observer in North Carolina before joining the Rock Hill paper.
