There will be 10 separate podcast series, with each initially producing a dozen shows during the next six months. An estimated 57 million Americans tune into podcasts regularly, according to Edison Research. In one survey 18 percent of women said they had listened to a podcast in the past month, up from 9 percent in 2013.
“Today if you see a woman with headphones, she is increasingly tuning in to a podcast with her listening options ranging from the oddly entertaining to the empowering,” said Christina Vuleta, Forbes vice president of the Women’s Digital Network, in a statement. “We’re excited about the opportunity to bring new voices to podcasting and leverage the medium to help millennials bring their own stories to life.”
