Forbes announced Monday the hiring of Jeffrey Taylor as assistant managing editor, innovation & technology.
Based in the San Francisco bay area, Taylor will oversee Forbes’ coverage of technology, including software and digital products, venture capital, aerospace, manufacturing and transportation.
Taylor, who reports to Forbes Executive Editor Luisa Kroll, will be focused on expanding Forbes’ coverage in key areas that are driving growth as the world builds back. He will also be charged with expanding the technology team.
“I’ve spent my career covering and supervising a range of beats, from business and finance to politics and government,” said Taylor in a statement. “One thread that runs through it all is a passion for delivering exclusive news, timely enterprise reporting and investigative content, and I look forward to working with the team at Forbes to expand coverage and continue providing trusted technology reporting to Forbes audiences.”
Most recently, Taylor was senior political correspondent for Bloomberg News. He also served as the regional managing editor for the western United States at Bloomberg News, supervising news bureaus in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston and Dallas. Prior to that, Taylor worked as managing editor for U.S. corporate news coverage, San Francisco bureau chief and enterprise editor.
He supervised and edited “Wall Street’s Faustian Bargain,” a 2007 series on the subprime mortgage crisis that won the Gerald Loeb award for distinguished business reporting.
He is the author of “The Pru-Bache Murder,” a non-fiction, investigative book about the stock brokerage business, published by HarperCollins in 1994.
Forbes also announced that Aayushi Pratap and Nina Wolpow have joined the innovation & tech team as assistant editors.
