Forbes hires Jeans to cover tech

Forbes has hired reporter David Jeans to join its technology team.

“ I’m very excited to get started with such a stellar tech team (from my bedroom office for now),” he wrote on Twitter. “Also a shoutout to the team at @trdny who taught me the ropes of business reporting — I’ll sure miss them.”

Jeans has been reporting on the New York real estate industry for The Real Deal magazine. He also sometimes writes for The New York Times.

He has worked in the United States., Australia and Central America, reporting for Associated Press, ProPublica, Vice News, Daily Mail, News Corp and Fairfax Media.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
