Forbes and publisher 360BusinessMedia announced Wednesday a French-language web site, www.Forbes.fr, with a print magazine coming in 2017.
The site has no pay wall and is supported by advertisers, including Forbes’ BrandVoice marketing platform.
The French website will primarily cover national and continental stories. About 70 percent of the content will be original and will address current affairs in France and Europe. The remainder will be sourced from Forbes.com.
The editor of Forbes France is Jean Rognetta. Prior to Forbes France, Rognetta wrote for several publications, including Capital Finance and Les Echos. He is the former editor-in-chief of Silicon.fr. He is also the president of PME Finance, an association devoted to entrepreneurs.
“We’re thrilled Forbes is expanding into France with the launch of Forbes.fr as a first step.” said Forbes Media president and chief operating officer Mike Federle in a statement. “360BusinessMedia has achieved tremendous success in France, and we’re confident that the group will develop an important presence for Forbes. This launch continues our rapid expansion into Western Europe, which has become a strategic footprint for Forbes.”
Forbes has 37 licensed editions, including places such as Africa, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, India, Indonesia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Korea, Latvia, Middle East, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Turkey, and Ukraine.
