Forbes announces editorial hires

Forbes magazine announced five new editorial hires on Monday, including the previously reporting hiring of Jeff Bercovici from DailyFinance.com.

The other hires are:

Kashmir Hill has joined Forbes to write about the intersection of law, technology, consumer information and social media.  She is also focused on helping the staff get the most out of their social media efforts, in addition to building out the new front of the book section of the magazine. Most recently, she was an editor at “Above the Law,” a legal blog.  Prior to that, she held stints at The Week magazine, in Hong Kong at the International Herald Tribune, and in D.C. at the National Press Foundation and the Washington Examiner.

Nicholas Sabloff has come aboard to run the home page and help guide breaking news efforts. Most recently the world editor at The Huffington Post, Sabloff shaped and built that section during a period of record growth. He previously served as deputy news editor and as an associate news editor for HuffPost. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

After taking some time to write a business-focused book on Jay-Z, Zack O’Malley Greenburg returns as a staff writer for Forbes, where he’ll cover finance and entertainment and write “The Beat Report” blog on the business of music. Since 2005, Greenburg has reported on topics from tourism in Sierra Leone to the earning power of deceased rappers, interviewing personalities from Dr. Ruth to 50 Cent. His book is due out this winter.

Halah Touryalai has also recently joined Forbes as a new staff writer, where she will be working in the investing area of Forbes. Touryalai comes to Forbes from Registered Rep magazine, where she covered Wall Street and the brokerage and financial advisor industry. She previously worked at Fortune Small Business.
